Infineon Technologies has officially inaugurated a new semiconductor back-end site in Bangkok, Thailand, expanding its packaging and testing capacity in Southeast Asia. The German group says the facility is designed to support growing demand in automotive, industrial and energy applications, and is expected to expand further in the coming years.
The site currently employs 350 people, with plans to scale up to as many as 1,000 employees over time. By strengthening its regional manufacturing footprint, Infineon is aiming to reinforce its supply chain and production capabilities for key end markets in Asia.
The new Bangkok plant focuses on encapsulation and testing, the back-end stages of semiconductor production that are critical to ensuring chip reliability and performance before shipment. The investment underlines Infineon’s strategy to deepen its presence in Southeast Asia, where electronics manufacturing and demand for power semiconductors continue to grow.
