French-German defense group KNDS has completed its acquisition of Texelis Defense, which will now operate under the name KNDS Mobility. The move, finalized fourteen months after exclusive negotiations began, strengthens the group's industrial footprint in France and expands its expertise in land mobility systems.
The acquisition enables KNDS to offer a more comprehensive range of military systems by integrating Texelis's specialized capabilities in axles, transmissions, and complete drivelines for armored and tactical vehicles. This strategic addition complements KNDS's existing portfolio, which includes main battle tanks, artillery systems, and other armored platforms from its Nexter (France) and KMW (Germany) subsidiaries.
KNDS Mobility will continue operations from its existing sites in Limoges and Vierzon, France, focusing on the development and production of advanced mobility solutions. The rebranding signifies the company's full integration into the KNDS group structure, aimed at enhancing collaborative engineering and offering more integrated vehicle solutions to global defense customers.
