French startup SCorp-io has raised €5 million to scale its decarbonization solutions for mid-sized commercial buildings, a segment it identifies as a major industrial blind spot. The company targets buildings between 1,000 and 15,000 square meters, which have often been overlooked between large-scale projects and small residential retrofits.
Historically, the energy transition for tertiary buildings has been driven by regulatory compliance or heavy capital investment. SCorp-io aims to shift this focus toward operational optimization through its specialized building management technology. The funding round was led by Asterion Ventures, with participation from business angels including Nicolas Dessaigne, co-founder of Algolia.
The capital will be used to accelerate the industrialization of SCorp-io's platform, which integrates IoT sensors, data analytics, and automated control systems to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. The company plans to expand its team and strengthen its commercial deployment across France. According to SCorp-io, mid-sized buildings represent a significant decarbonization leverage point due to their aggregate energy footprint and current lack of tailored, scalable solutions.
