Infineon Technologies has officially launched Moore4Power, a major European research programme aimed at reshaping power electronics by making it more efficient, more compact and faster to industrialize. Coordinated by Infineon, the project brings together 62 partners from 15 countries and carries a total budget of €91 million.
Moore4Power stands for “More than Moore for Disruptive Innovations in Power Electronics” and is designed to accelerate the development of next-generation power electronics technologies across Europe. The initiative reflects a broader push to improve the performance and manufacturability of systems used in applications where power conversion, efficiency and miniaturization are critical.
By assembling such a large cross-border consortium, the programme is intended to combine research expertise and industrial capabilities to move innovations more quickly from lab to production. The emphasis is not only on technical gains—higher efficiency, smaller form factors and faster industrial deployment—but also on building a stronger European ecosystem around advanced power electronics.
