French quantum computing startup Quandela has delivered Lucy, a 12-qubit universal digital photonic quantum computer, to the Very Large Computing Centre (TGCC) operated by the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) in Bruyères-le-Châtel. The system was acquired by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking through the EuroQCS-France consortium.
Lucy, developed by the Franco-German consortium Quandela – attocube systems AG, is described as the world's most powerful photonic quantum computer. Its installation at the CEA's TGCC marks a significant step in providing European researchers with advanced quantum computing resources. The delivery is part of a broader EuroHPC initiative to establish a pan-European quantum computing infrastructure.
Quandela, GENCI et le CEA annoncent aujourd’hui la livraison de Lucy, un ordinateur quantique photonique universel numérique de 12 qubits, au Très Grand Centre de calcul (TGCC) du CEA situé à Bruyères le Chatel (91). Le système, fourni par le consortium franco-allemand Quandela – attocube systems AG, a été acquis par l’EuroHPC Joint Undertaking dans le cadre du consortium EuroQCS-France.
