The French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) has established a clear dual mandate: protecting its scientific discoveries and commercializing its innovations. This strategy is executed through an aggressive intellectual property policy, including extensive patent filings, coupled with a focus on technology transfer. The CEA channels its innovations to the market via two primary routes: direct licensing and partnerships with established industrial firms, and the creation of new deep-tech spin-off companies.
