Siemens has become the first electronic design automation (EDA) software vendor to join EuroCDP, the platform run by Chips JU, marking a significant step toward broadening access to advanced electronic CAD tools across Europe. The agreement is designed to make it easier for European start-ups, SMEs and research centers to obtain these tools under заранее defined pricing and contractual conditions, removing some of the friction that typically slows access to professional-grade design software.
By joining EuroCDP, Siemens is positioning itself as a direct supporter of Europe’s semiconductor and electronics ecosystem, where access to sophisticated CAO électronique tools can be a major barrier for smaller organizations. The initiative aims to lower entry costs and simplify procurement, giving innovation-focused companies and labs a more predictable path to using high-end design software.
The move also reflects a broader effort to strengthen the European industrial base by improving access to critical digital tools. For Siemens, it is another step in backing European industry while helping accelerate development work in electronics design, particularly among organizations that may not have the scale or purchasing power of large established players.
