Scania has selected its production plant in Angers, France, as the assembly site for its next generation of electric heavy trucks. The Swedish manufacturer announced the plan at the 2026 Choose France Summit, a government-backed initiative to attract foreign investment. The project will see more than €68 million invested in the facility, known as Scania Production Angers, with construction and retooling work scheduled to begin in summer 2026. The move underscores Scania’s commitment to electrifying its commercial vehicle lineup and leverages France’s push to become a hub for green mobility. No production volumes or job creation figures were disclosed, but the investment marks a significant step in Scania’s European electric truck strategy and reinforces the Angers site’s role in the group’s industrial network.
