France has launched a new strategic research program, "Future Networks," as part of its broader France 2030 investment plan and its "5G and Future Networks" acceleration strategy. The program was inaugurated on July 10 in the presence of Jean-Noël Barrot, the Minister Delegate for the Digital Transition and Telecommunications.
The research initiative is a Priority Research Program and Equipment (PEPR) and will be jointly led by three major French research organizations: the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), and the Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT). Its primary objective is to advance French research and development in next-generation communication networks, positioning the country at the forefront of future telecommunications technologies.
