ENGIE Research & Innovation (ENGIE R&I) and the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) have launched a joint research program on solar fuels, supported by an industrial chair funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR). The initiative, named the "PROSPER-H2" chair, is being conducted in collaboration with the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and the University of Grenoble Alpes.
The program focuses on developing technologies to produce hydrogen and other synthetic fuels using solar energy, aiming to advance renewable energy storage and decarbonize hard-to-electrify sectors like heavy transport and industry. This partnership leverages the CEA's expertise in photoelectrochemistry and materials science with ENGIE's focus on energy system integration and market deployment.
