The July wildfire on the Justin massif, which burned more than 4,200 hectares of forest near Die in the Drôme, did not spare the Clairette de Die vineyards entirely. Although the damage to the wine-growing area was limited, the blaze has added pressure on a sector already under strain.
The Clairette de Die industry is now caught between resilience and uncertainty. Already facing difficulties before the fire, it is calling on local authorities to step in and help restore momentum. The expectation is that public support will be needed to revive activity and strengthen a fragile production chain that has been further weakened by the summer disaster.
