In 2026, the European Nanoelectronics Applications, Design & Technology Conference (ADTC) and the edaWorkshop will again be co-located as edaWorkshop26, scheduled for May 5–6, 2026, in Dresden. This biennial joint event, organized by edacentrum with AENEAS on the steering committee, serves as a premier European forum for deep technical exchange among R&D projects and industry experts.
The conference program will feature focused sessions on several critical and timely topics. These include keynotes on CMOS 2.0 and Quantum Optics, discussions on AI-based tools in chip design, efforts toward expanding the European RISC-V ecosystem, and advancements in Silicon Photonics. Further sessions will cover the IPCEI initiative for shaping European microelectronics innovation, and evolving technologies like 3D integration, chiplets, and advanced packaging. The event will also address the implementation of the EU Chips Act, covering related activities such as the European Design Platform, Pilot Lines, and the Chips Joint Undertaking, likely through a dedicated panel session. A social event is planned to foster networking among attendees.
The collaboration between the edaWorkshop—Germany's central event for electronics design and automation (EDA)—and the ADTC—the European-level nanoelectronics conference formerly known as CATRENE DTC until 2015—dates back to 2009. They are held together every two years in Dresden, sharing one common day to maximize synergy. The most recent joint edition was held in April 2024.
In 2026, the edaWorkshop26 will be organized together with the European Nanoelectronics Applications, Design & Technology Conference (ADTC) from May 5 – 6, 2026 in Dresden.

More about edaWorkshop and ADTC
Since 2009, the two established events edaWorkshop and ADTC have been held together in Dresden every two years. They share a common day and thus offer an efficient and exciting platform for cooperation and technical exchange between R&D projects and leading experts from all over Europe.
The edaWorkshop is the central German event on EDA in the sense of electronics, design and applications as well as in the classic sense of electronic design automation and the ADTC, the European Nanoelectronics Applications, Design & Technology Conference, known as CATRENE DTC until 2015, is a counterpart at European level. The last time this cooperation took place was in April 2024 in Dresden.
